JANA

A woman named Mahtab, along with her husband Ali, travels to her hometown to plant a sapling next to a tree named Jana, which Mahtab had planted with her mother before her mother’s death. Upon arrival, they are unable to find Jana. After being disappointed in finding the tree, Mahtab reveals a secret to Ali which she knew before their marriage and had not told him. She confesses that she is aware of her impending death due to hereditary cancer. This revelation causes Ali to lose trust in her. Despite the emotional turmoil, Mahtab is determined to complete the task. She plants the sapling in the spot where she believes Jana once stood, hoping that after her death, Ali will visit it and find comfort, so he won't feel lonely. Mahtab then leans against Ali beside the sapling and closes her eyes.
