Pierre Christin is a well-known Parisian artist, painter and sculptor, who after working most of his life in Japan, now leads a slow, meditative existence in his apartment/atelier on a balcony overlooking the Seine.
The arrival in Paris of a young aspiring filmmaker, full of uncertainty about the future, is the premise for a chance meeting between the two of them along the banks of the river. A reflection on the meaning of art and what it means to be an artist nowadays. A confrontation between two generations so distant, yet so close. A story of friendship of which a weeping willow tree remains the silent guardian.
